Plant Dyed Linen

Made in the British Isles

A small fish in a big pond.

We are a small London start up who believe in creating product using fabrics and dye techniques that are kind to the environment. We are excited to be at the forefront of natural dying and dedicated to keeping toxic chemicals away from our bodies and ecosystems.

Why linen.

Linen is one of the kindest fabrics available. It is strong, airy, anti-bacterial, gentle to your skin and the planet. It's production uses very little water and it can grow successfully without the use of herbicides and pesticides. It drapes beautifully and will get even better with age. It's fully recyclable and bio degradable. What’s not to love?

Our dyes.

Our aim at Nàdarra is low impact sustainability which is why we dye our linen with plants, wood and fruit. This is a slow and beautiful process which involves the fabric being scoured and soaked for sometimes up to a week in rainwater, in preparation for the dyes to be applied. The process is carried out by hand in very small batches making each and every dress unique.

Handcrafted in London.

We’re not collecting air miles! It is important for us to use the resources we have close to home and to support the rich heritage of manufacturing in the British Isles. Our linen is spun in N.I. by a mill who have been spinning since 1962 and each one of our dresses is happily cut and made in London by a small family run factory, a stones throw from our studio.
